WILLEMSTAD – The Prekario Team has announced that the waiting list process for Prekario Carnival 2026 will be conducted digitally this year. A prekario is an official permit issued for the temporary use of public space, allowing vendors to place booths, stands, or tents along the carnival route to sell food, drinks, or merchandise during Carnival events.
The official lottery to determine which applicants on the waiting list will receive a prekario permit will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Selection will be based on the number of available spaces along the Carnival route.
Following the lottery, all applicants will receive an email from the Prekario Team informing them of the outcome, indicating whether they have been selected or not.
Applicants who are selected will subsequently receive an official email with detailed payment instructions and next steps required to secure their permit.
The Prekario Team expressed appreciation for the strong interest in Carnival 2026 and thanked all applicants for their cooperation as the process transitions to a fully digital system.
