Gillian da Costa Gomez Crowned Reina di Karnaval Adulto 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Gillian da Costa Gomez has been crowned Reina di Karnaval Adulto 2026, the Carnival Queen, following the grand finale of the carnival elections held last night at the World Trade Center Curaçao. The event attracted a large and enthusiastic audience for the announcement of the winners.

Da Costa Gomez had already made a strong impression during the preliminary rounds, winning awards for most impactful costume, best show and most dynamic presentation. In the final standings, she finished ahead of her competitors. Quwena Afra Paulina placed second finalist, while Marsha Heyliger was named first finalist.

The titles of Prens i Pancho 2026 were awarded to Damir Francisco and Rodangelo de la Cruz. The duo also secured several additional honors, including most popular duo, best costume finish, and the public and social media awards. Charelson Mercelina and Shamiro Jamanika were named first finalists, while Dounkan Bernadina and Kyan Curiel finished as second finalists.

The election evening featured a varied program and strong performances from all participants, both in the women’s and men’s categories. The organization described the event as a successful edition and praised the contestants, as well as the organizing bodies Beehives and IBFF, for the smooth and professional execution of the elections.

With the crowning of Gillian da Costa Gomez and the duo Francisco–De la Cruz, the main roles for the Carnival 2026 season are now officially filled, setting the stage for the celebrations ahead.
