Nedion Sluis Crowned Rei di Tumba Hubenil 2026

WILLEMSTADNedion Sluis has been crowned Rei di Tumba Hubenil 2026 during the Festival di Tumba Hubenil, held last Saturday. The event brought together young tumba talents from across the island and was described by organizers as a vibrant and successful edition.

In addition to the top title, Sluis won several individual awards, receiving prizes for most original contribution, best lyrics, and best performance, making him one of the most decorated participants of the evening.

Kaydee Trinidad secured first place and also earned awards for best grunchi, most disciplined participant, and best arrangement. Nathan Engelhart finished second and was named best singer, while Ro-Jeanahley Cleofa placed third and received the audience choice award as the most popular participant.

According to the organization, the young performers demonstrated creativity, a strong love for culture, and a deep passion for tumba throughout the festival. Organizers Beehives and Bold Starz thanked all participants, musicians, judges, staff, and members of the public for contributing to the event’s success.

The organizers said the high level of performances and strong audience engagement showed that the future of youth tumba on Curaçao is in good hands. Beehives and Bold Starz reaffirmed their commitment to promoting local talent and strengthening Curaçao’s cultural heritage in the lead-up to Carnival 2026.
