WILLEMSTAD – Travel company TUI has entered into a two-year partnership with the Tumba Festival, the annual musical event that plays a central role in Curaçao’s carnival season. With this collaboration, TUI says it aims to strengthen its connection to the island’s cultural identity.
The partnership will be developed through joint promotions, cultural activities, and support for local artists. According to TUI, the initiative is intended to enrich the tourism experience by giving visitors the opportunity to engage with the authentic cultural expressions of Curaçao.
The collaboration is also being welcomed within the local music community. Gino Valeriaan, board member of the Asosiashon di Musiko i Artista di Kòrsou (AMAK), says music is a unifying force and that Tumba rhythms are an essential part of Curaçao’s identity. He believes the partnership will enhance the international visibility of local musicians and broaden appreciation for the island’s cultural heritage.
