WILLEMSTAD — The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) is experiencing technical problems with equipment in its sterilization department, prompting the hospital to reschedule elective surgeries as a precautionary measure.
CMC stated that the decision was taken to ensure the highest patient safety standards. As a result, elective surgeries that were scheduled for Monday will be postponed. All urgent and acute procedures, including oncology-related surgeries, will continue as planned.
Medical equipment teams and the hospital’s technical services department are actively working to resolve the issue. CMC expects the situation to be resolved within the coming days.
If it becomes necessary to reschedule surgeries planned for Tuesday or Wednesday, the hospital’s Planning Department will contact affected patients directly.
CMC apologized for any inconvenience this situation may cause and thanked patients and the wider community for their understanding. The hospital emphasized that patient safety remains its highest priority.
For urgent medical needs, Curaçao Medical Center continues to operate as usual.
