WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) has announced that individuals can obtain their hygiene certification for 2025 during exam sessions scheduled from December 15 to 18. The hygiene card, known locally as the Karchi di Kùr, is legally required for anyone who prepares, sells or serves food or beverages to the public.
Without a valid card, individuals are not permitted to work in food processing, catering or the hospitality sector.
Exams will be administered at Roodeweg 49 between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. and from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on the designated dates.
Candidates may prepare using the digital hygiene handbook, bukinan di higiena, available through Google in Papiamentu, Dutch, English, Spanish and Chinese.
With this announcement, the ministry reiterates that the hygiene card is not just for restaurant owners but for anyone who handles food or drinks in a professional capacity.
