103 kilos of waste cleaned up at Grote Knip

Local | By Correspondent May 9, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - A group of volunteers cleaned the area around Grote Knip together with the Kunuku Man on Sunday. 103 kilos of waste were collected during the clean-up campaign.

The volunteers spent an hour and a half clearing the long parking lot by the beach. “It was a short cleaning campaign today, so after cleaning up we sat on the beach for a while with a cold drink and something to eat,” writes the Kunuku Man on his Facebook page.

The Kunuku Man also writes that he does not understand why people throw their garbage at the parking lot after their visit to Grote Knip. “Just take your waste home and donate it to your own wheelie bin.”

Plastic and glass bottles have been collected for recycling. The Kunuku Man advises everyone to buy a net and put it over the garbage when garbage is being taken to the landfill. “Then everything ends up there instead of in nature.”
