WILLEMSTAD - There is money to asphalt the roads of Curaçao. Minister Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning has managed to release 14 million guilders for maintenance of the road surface this year. The roads are currently in a deplorable condition.
Agreements have already been made with contractors about the asphalting work. Initially, 4 million guilders will be released in May. An additional 10 million guilders will be added later this year. This amount is only for asphalting. Not for filling holes in the road surface.
