WILLEMSTAD - During a cleaning campaign at Playa Piskadó, 205 kilos of waste were collected last weekend. The Kunuku Man organized the action near the beach at Westpunt.
The group of volunteers was split in two and each started on a different side of the area. According to the Kunuku Man, the amount of waste on the beach was not too bad. The volunteers found a lot of waste along the way. In 2.5 hours, 98 kilos of litter and 107 kilos of beer bottles were cleaned up.
The organization calls on people via Facebook to clean up their garbage. “Dispose of your rubbish properly,” said Kunuku Man. In addition, the organization gives a tip to take a plastic bag with you during a day out. “Then throw away the bag of litter at home in, for example, the wheelie bin.”
