WILLEMSTAD - The art exhibition Art for the Roses was officially opened last weekend in Landhuis Bloemhof. No fewer than 36 artists responded to the call to donate a work of art containing a rose for charity.
The art project is a collaboration between Landhuis Bloemhof and the Ride for the Roses foundation, with the Orco Bank as main sponsor. The foundation wants to raise as much funds as possible for the Princess Wilhelmina Fund (PWF) for the aftercare of cancer patients and the guidance of their loved ones.

Nicole Henriquez said at the opening that she was pleasantly surprised with the number, quality and variety of the submitted artworks. Apart from paintings, photographs and other creations can also be seen in the mansion. The youngest participant is a fourteen-year-old schoolboy and the oldest artist is a seventy-year-old lady.
The exhibition can be viewed in Landhuis Bloemhof until the auction on 19 November. From Saturday you can already bid on the works of art in a so-called 'silent auction'. Several activities are planned around the exhibition to raise money for charity, including a Christmas market and a Hòfi Cinema movie night.
