THE HAGUE - The Caribbean islands have so far received 407 million euros in aid from the Netherlands. 135 million in the first tranche and 185 million in the second tranche.
This is evident from the budget statement Kingdom Relations on Budget Day. The remaining 87 million euros were spent on food aid for the islands and NOW funds on the BES islands.
The budget does not yet contain any amounts for next year. New support measures are still the subject of discussion between the Netherlands and the islands.
