WILLEMSTAD - The signature campaign against the construction of a wheelchair ramp at Grote Knip Beach has so far resulted in more than 4500 signatures.
The initiators Nihaila Pieter and Laeticia Xavora announced this in a letter to Ministers Zita Jesus-Leito and Steven Martina. They think the construction has completely ruined the beach panorama and ask the ministers whether the practical operation, safety, weather resistance and usefulness of the wheelchair ramp have been considered.
This is because there is already a way down to the snack bar at the back of beach. The initiators hope that an option can be explored whereby nature can remain intact and Grote Knip can be returned to its original state.
