WILLEMSTAD - 48 people have been arrested following last night's events. Of these, 14 have been sent home and 34 are still in prison.
It is striking that almost all of them are very young. An age is not mentioned. They are all suspected of destruction, theft or arson. Police spokesman Imro Zwerwer just announced this during the press conference.
Twelve shops in Punda and Otrobanda have been destroyed. Uninhabited houses have gone up in flames. Bushes, garbage bins and tires have also been set on fire. Nine ABC buses were also destroyed.
