WILLEMSTAD - Insurer Avéro Achmea must fully reimburse Jacob Gelt Dekker's cancer treatment in 2018. According to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, this concerns an amount of almost 600,000 euros.
The entrepreneur and philanthropist passed away last year. In 2018, he underwent cancer treatment in an American hospital.
The insurer did not get over the money because the treatment would have been too experimental. The judge disagreed. Litigation is still pending over another 800,000 euros in 2019. The amounts go to charity.
