WILLEMSTAD - The rise in fuel prices is causing a worrying situation at bus company ABC. The management is calling for adjustments in prices.
In a statement, ABC director John Cijntje states that the bus company is being confronted with the current economic situation. In addition, the government spends less money on subsidies. According to Cijntje, every cent of price increase ABC costs about 100,000 guilders per year.
The price for a liter of petrol is currently 2.81 guilders. The diesel price rose last month from 2.27 guilders to 2.64 guilders. “The increase in fuel prices is causing problems everywhere and it is important that adjustments are made in the short term,” concludes Cijntje.
