WILLEMSTAD – Her Excellency Mrs. R.A. Jansen has formally assumed her duties as Acting Governor of Curaçao. The official assumption of office took place today during a solemn session of the Parliament of Curaçao (Staten).
During the session, a copy of the Royal Decree dated November 10, 2025, confirming her appointment, was formally submitted, along with the official record of her oath of office. Mrs. Jansen took the oath on November 26, 2025, in the presence of His Excellency Governor M.J. de Kort.
With the completion of these constitutional formalities, Mrs. Jansen has officially begun her term as Acting Governor. In this capacity, she will temporarily fulfill the constitutional responsibilities of the Governor within Curaçao’s system of governance and the wider framework of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The ceremony highlighted the continuity of constitutional order and the importance of the Governor’s office as a neutral and stabilizing institution within Curaçao’s democratic system.
