Again problems with sargassum

Local | By Correspondent March 11, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - Beaches in Curaçao should again consider preparing for problems with sargassum weeds in the coming weeks. There are large quantities of brown seaweed floating around the island.

At Playa Charomba on Ascencion there is already a large quantity on the beach. According to Stichting Uniek Curaçao, it is found in the mangrove forests and along the two coastal strips of the inland waterways.

During the Cura Doet action on 16 March, all sargassum will be removed from the water. Sargassum is also expected on the south side of Curaçao.
