WILLEMSTAD - A large number of fines were again issued during a traffic control at Emancipatie Boulevard. From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the police checked 135 cars.
A total of fifty fines were issued. 19 drivers drove without valid papers and eight were unable to present a driver's license. In addition, fines were also issued because of too dark foil on the windows. The scooter driver received a police report for driving without a helmet.
The police have been actively investigating lately. On Monday, 115 fines were issued in two checks. The checks focused on cars that went through a red light, but no cars ran through the red light. However, the police did draw up several official reports for driving without a seatbelt, without valid papers and without a light.
