THE HAGUE - Curaçao and Aruba reached an official agreement with the Netherlands at the end of last year about a new (Aruba) and adjusted (Curaçao) tax scheme. This agreement, announced by State Secretary Marnix van Rijk (Tax and Tax Authorities) in a letter to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament, will be ratified by the governments this year.
Talks with Sint Maarten about adjusting the existing tax scheme have yet to start. Within the Kingdom, no tax treaties, but tax agreement are concluded. These take the form of a Kingdom Act.
