WILLEMSTAD - In a press release, the government indicated that Tuesday February 16, 2021 was a historic day for them, the social housing foundation FKP and all those who are eligible to rent a social house. After almost 40 years, an agreement has been finally reached.
The government has made land and funds available for social housing. The demand for social rental housing is growing enormously at the moment and is greater than the government can offer.
Minister Zita Jesus-Leito of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning has now signed an agreement regarding the maintenance of the houses.
The condition of the houses will now be examined and improved where necessary. The minister calls the agreement a major step towards improvement.
