WILLEMSTAD - The Kingdom Council of Ministers has approved the new proposal on Curaçao's 2022 budget. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas reports during the press conference.

According to Pisas, the previous proposal on the Kingdom Act of the former State Secretary for the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Raymond Knops, was not adopted.

The government has recently consulted several times with the current State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitization, Alexandra van Huffelen.

Article 25 was discussed during the Kingdom Council of Ministers. “It has been decided that the new budget can be submitted with a deficit,” said the Prime Minister. “The Kingdom Council of Ministers agrees with the new proposal.”

Van Huffelen will visit the island next week. According to Pisas, his government is doing its best to maintain a good relationship with the Netherlands.
