WILLEMSTAD - All suspects arrested in the case of the major cocaine heist in the police station in Rio Canario have been released. They remain identified as suspects in the case, the Public Prosecution Service reports.
A few weeks ago, three arrests were made in connection with the investigation into the missing cocaine. When they were arrested, they were formally suspected of drug trafficking. One suspect was released soon after his arrest. The other two were released at the end of last week, according to the Public Prosecution Service.
In the night of 13 to 14 October 2018, 600 kilos of confiscated cocaine disappeared in an unknown manner from the police depot of the police station in Rio Canario. The next morning, a truck that may have been used for the robbery was found burnt out. Since then, the police have been looking for the perpetrators.
