WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, July 14, 2023, all recipients of social assistance will receive their school clothing allowance ('kleedgeld') for the year 2023 (within the 15/2023 fortnight) along with their regular payment. Individuals with an income up to the minimum wage threshold can visit the Kas di Bario office starting June 30, 2023, to submit their petition.
Who can apply for the school clothing allowance:
Parents or guardians who receive social assistance or have an income up to the minimum wage threshold.
Parents or guardians must be registered in the Civil Registry of Curaçao.
Foreigners with a valid permit who are registered in the Civil Registry of Curaçao.
Children who are of compulsory school age and attend a government-subsidized school such as Fundeshi, Elementary School, Special School, VSBO, SBO, HAVO, or VWO (ages 4 to 18).
Documents required at the time of application:
Valid identification document or residence permit of the parent or authorized person submitting the petition.
Child's identification document or family record book.
School declaration ('schoolverklaring') for the year 2023-2024.
Individuals with an income up to the minimum wage threshold must provide the income statement from the Tax Inspectorate and salary slip.
Individuals with an income up to the minimum wage threshold who have a current account with Maduro & Curiel's Bank or another local bank must provide the account number and the two most recent bank statements.
