Antonieta Dap and Kees Wognum: an example for Curaçao

Local | By Press release July 7, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Erwin Arkenbout, the Representative of the Netherlands on Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten, recently spoke with Antonieta Dap and Kees Wognum. Antonieta is known to everyone in Curaçao from the popular TV program 'Dun'e Un Chèns', in which she has lent a helping hand in all kinds of ways to residents of Curaçao who have gotten into trouble for many years.

Her life partner Kees has invested a lot of time and energy in the foundation Kinderoorden Brakkeput, a shelter for oppressed young people aged 6-16 (and sometimes slightly older), to offer them the prospect of being able to participate fully in society.

This 'power couple' is concretely and passionately engaged in combating poverty, with help to residents of Curaçao, including the most vulnerable in society (such as young people) in a pinch. Offering a new, next chance is a common thread in their activities. “They do a great job, they meet a great need and they are an example to others. Their contribution to the society of Curaçao deserves praise and support,” said Mr. Arkenbout.
