WILLEMSTAD - People who rely solely on the AOV pension will receive an additional bonus payment in December, confirmed acting Minister of Finance Charles Cooper (MFK).
According to Cooper, the extra payment will be made on top of the regular annual AOV disbursement that pensioners normally receive.
The government is still reviewing whether individuals who, in addition to their AOV pension, have another source of income will also qualify for this bonus. “No final decision has been made on that matter yet,” the minister stated.
The initiative aims to provide financial relief to Curaçao’s most vulnerable elderly citizens ahead of the holiday season.
