WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (OWCS) announced today that the APC Complex will remain closed from December 1 through December 6, 2025, due to heavy dust generated by the demolition of the Sentro Pro Arte building.
According to the ministry, the dismantling of the former theater — managed by Stichting Schouwburg — has produced a significant amount of dust, as expected. As a precaution, all organizations housed within the APC Complex have agreed to temporarily shift operations to remote work. These include:
Ministry of OWCS
Ministry of Health (GMN)
Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW)
Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
Employees of all affected ministries and agencies have been instructed to work from home during the closure period.
The government stated that additional updates and instructions will be shared through official communication channels later this week.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” the announcement concluded, noting that safety and health remain the top priority during the ongoing demolition works.
