THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - Mrs. M. (Michèle) Russel-Capriles becomes the acting Governor of Curaçao. On the proposal of Prime Minister Ruggenaath on behalf of the Curaçao Council of Ministers, the Kingdom Council of Ministers has decided to nominate her for the function. The appointment will take effect on 1 June 2019 and is related to the expiry of the term of the current acting governor, Mrs Römer-Kenepa.
Mrs. Russel-Capriles (1968) is no stranger to Curaçao society. She is socially involved in many projects. She is also very fond of art and culture and its preservation, as evidenced by her involvement with the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund and the Jewish Cultural Historical Museum. In addition, she has held various political positions.
