WILLEMSTAD – The launch and successful issuance of Aqualectra’s Aqua-Bonds represent a historic step for both the utility provider and Curaçao’s capital market, according to a detailed communication released on December 3. With all XCG 75 million in bonds fully subscribed, the program marks one of the island’s most significant energy-sector financing achievements to date.

Aqualectra states that the initiative strengthens the company’s long-term roadmap toward a more stable, resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure. The financing raised will support innovative projects ranging from network upgrades to digitalization and the expansion of renewable energy sources across the island.

The company emphasizes that the high level of investor interest demonstrates widespread support for modernizing Curaçao’s utilities. The Aqua-Bonds program offers both institutional and individual investors an opportunity to participate directly in shaping Curaçao’s energy future. Aqualectra describes this public participation as a collective endorsement of its strategy to improve reliability and affordability for the community.

The process was coordinated with Amicorp as transaction agent and guided by Fortisa Capital. Aqualectra notes that collaboration with brokers and financial partners was crucial in ensuring a seamless issuance process and in achieving broad investor participation.

By completing this bond issuance, Aqualectra believes it has positioned itself and the island for continued sustainable development. The utility concludes its announcement with appreciation for the strong investor response, calling the initiative a shared investment in Curaçao’s stability, growth and long-term wellbeing.
