WILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra will continue with fewer staff in the coming years to save money. In the coming years, the company will employ almost 150 fewer employees.
The utility company wants to reduce the number of employees from 616 employees in 2019 to 468 employees in 2026. In total, the company will save almost 13.9 million guilders.
The Aqualectra unions have not agreed to the 12.5% cut on salaries, but have agreed to a 'redevelopment project' in which personnel costs will be reduced.
According to the utility company, personnel costs were too high, so it was decided to let 148 employees go in the coming years. According to the water and electricity company, there will be a clear structural decrease in costs in the coming years.
