WILLEMSTAD - The utility company Aqualectra will replace the 33 thousand street lights on the island with more sustainable LED lighting. The new smart lighting can be dimmed to save energy.
More than 8,500 of the lights must be replaced because the parts are no longer supplied. Aqualectra will invest 22 million guilders in the project.
The new street lighting will have to last at least 15 years.
