WILLEMSTAD - Traffic on Curaçao came to a standstill for a few moments yesterday as a result of the transport of a transformer for the utility company Aqualectra.
The enormous machine was moved from the power station in Mundo Nobo to the sub-station between Hoenderberg and Montaña Abou.
The 30/12 kV transformer, with a capacity of up to 16 MVA, is to replace the current transformer in order to optimize the power supply in Banda Riba (east side).
