WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday the government started tearing down the stands on Brionplein.
The reason for the demolition of the stands is the poor maintenance, which has created a dangerous situation for the users of the stands.
In about two weeks, the dismantling of all stands will be completed; now the artists and sellers of souvenirs are allowed to return to their usual place.
It is said that a plan has already been drawn up to develop the area into a 'Boulevard of Artists'.
