WILLEMSTAD - Art Langeler becomes national coach of the Curaçao national team. Langeler has been appointed on the intercession of Guus Hiddink, who will return as technical director at the Curaçao Soccer Association.
The 51-year-old trainer left PEC Zwolle last November. Langelaar will coach Curaçao until March 2023, when the group stage of the CONCACAF Nations League has ended.
Guus Hiddink will also return to the Curaçao Soccer Association. In 2020 Hiddink signed a contract as national coach until the World Cup in Qatar. After the coach became infected with the corona virus and Curaçao was eliminated in the preliminary rounds of the World Cup, the soccer association and Hiddink decided to terminate the contract. Hiddink will fulfill the role of technical director from 1 May.
