ORANJESTAD - There is a curfew in Aruba until September 1. It starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. All commercial activities stop at 9 p.m. and all businesses must then close. The island has seen a sharp increase in the number of corona infections in recent days.
The situation in the hospital is critical due to a lack of qualified staff. All specialists on the island have been approached to abandon their regular work and help treat the patients. The Netherlands has sent help at the request of the Aruban government.
