ORANJESTAD - The corona figures in Aruba continue to rise. In a week, the number of active cases has more than doubled, from 326 to 701. Three corona patients have also died on the island.
Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes expressed her concerns during a press conference. Aruba now has an average of 134 new infections per day. It is still quiet in the Intensive Care unit for the time being, there is one corona patient who, according to Wever-Croes, is stable. Due to the low IC occupancy, new corona measures are not necessary for the time being.
The crisis team wants to alert the Arubans to bring the infections down again. The prime minister recommends avoiding gatherings and observing hygiene and distance rules.
