Aruba deports nearly 100 illegal Venezuelans

Local | By Correspondent September 10, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - A group of nearly one hundred Venezuelans flew back to Venezuela on a "humanitarian flight" this week.

Most passengers do not have valid residence papers and have been held in the detention capacity of the Coast Guard in Aruba for a long time. There were also some Venezuelans who volunteered to be able to return home.

Yesterday it was also announced that fifteen undocumented migrants in the detention capacity of the Coast Guard have been infected with the corona virus. They are in isolation, according to the head of the Aruban coast guard. Due to their contamination yesterday, the people could not take the humanitarian flight back to Venezuela.
