ORANJESTAD - As of today, new, more flexible measures apply in Aruba for family and restaurant visits. The government has announced this. It is a result of the ever-decreasing corona numbers on the island. For some time now, the number of active cases has remained below a hundred. Monday, six new cases were registered, according to government figures. 85 people in total were infected on the island. As a result, there is no more limit when family members visit each other. Previously, no more than six people were allowed to come together. However, people must wear masks and keep a social distance.
More people are also allowed to sit together at the table in restaurants. There used to be a maximum of four people, now fourteen people are allowed to sit at a table in a restaurant and twenty in the open air. However, it is still forbidden to sit in bars, and customers are not allowed to dance.
Music groups may now consist of five people, initially there was a limit of three musicians. For outdoor performances there is no longer a limit for bands and vocal groups, but musicians must keep to the social distance and wear masks where possible. All shops and entertainment must still close no later than 11 pm.
