ORANJESTAD - Aruban Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes indicated yesterday that there is still no agreement with the Netherlands. This means that no decision can be taken on a new loan for Aruba today during the Kingdom Council of Ministers in The Hague. According to Werver-Croes, the greatest financial need must now be met by international financing. Wever-Croes indicates that there is interest abroad to lend money to Aruba. In addition, according to her, Aruba and the Netherlands will continue to negotiate.
According to the Aruban Prime Minister, there have been consultations in recent days and the Netherlands has come up with new proposals, but that has not yet led to results. She emphasized that she hopes that an agreement can eventually be reached. Until then, an international loan should help the country.
