ORANJESTAD - Aruba had the highest number of planes landing at the airport in one day last Saturday since the start of the corona pandemic. A total of 33 planes arrived on the island, carrying more than 3,500 passengers.
It mainly concerns American tourists who are allowed to enter the country with a negative PCR test. The Aruba Airport Authority expects passenger numbers in Aruba to continue to rise as the demand for air travel in the US market rises again, as more and more Americans have been vaccinated. Several airlines in the US have indicated that they will expand capacity. The total number reached a new high last week with more than 150 flights and almost 16,000 arrivals in a week.
