ORANJESTAD - Aruba opens its borders on December 1 to visitors from Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Venezuela still remains closed. By opening these borders, Aruba hopes to attract between 2000 and 2500 extra tourists per month. The director of the Aruban tourism office announced this on Monday evening.
Aruba will also open its borders to tourists from all over America from November 1. In this way, Aruba hopes to receive at least seven thousand more visitors per month. Currently, only Americans from "corona-safe" states are welcome.
According to the director of the Aruban tourism board, everyone must submit a negative PCR test upon arrival. Aruba has had a second corona wave since August. It has had a relatively high number of infections - more than 1,600 active infections in mid-September in a population of 100,000 people - but now the number has dropped significantly.
