WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Foreign Affairs Stef Blok has called the situation in Venezuela "worrying" last Tuesday in Curaçao.
According to the Dutch minister, it must be prevented that violence escalates in the country. During a press conference with Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, he argued for a peaceful, political solution in the sense of free and transparent elections.
According to Blok, it does not help now that the Netherlands will send military equipment to protect the Dutch Caribbean islands. Military deployment in the Netherlands is therefore not an option, Blok repeated several times during the press conference.
