Autonomy, Supervision and Intervention in the Caribbean countries

WILLEMSTAD - On Monday 1 June, mr.dr. Aubrich Bakhuis paid a visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout. During this visit they discussed the dissertation Autonomy, Supervision and Intervention in the Caribbean countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Aubrich traditionally offered the Governor a copy of his dissertation. Due to the Covid 19 crisis, it was not possible to submit the thesis earlier.

In his dissertation, Bakhuis discusses the crucial role of the Governors in safeguarding the soundness of governance and the constitutional consequences of directions to the Governors. He also discusses the significance and importance of an arrangement to bring a dispute about the actions of the kingdom government to an independent (judicial) body.
