WILLEMSTAD - On Sunday, January 27th, 2019 the students of Avalon University's third semester, participated in the 15th Anniversary Year event of the Ride, Swim and Walk for the Roses.
Ride for the Roses is a yearly returning cycling, swim, walk and sail charity event in order to raise money for the Princess Wilhelmina Foundation to fight against cancer on Curaçao.
The International Swimming Association rules state that it is mandatory for all competitive swimmers competing in an Open Water Swimming Event to have a simple medical checkup prior to the event. The students volunteered their time by performing the medical checkups of the swimmers participating in the swim competition. They checked the swimmer's heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature.
Avalonians are committed and want patients to know that you are not alone in your fight!
