WILLEMSTAD - The awareness campaign 'Sendé' has started again. This year the campaign is called 'Sendé….ta konsiente!' and it will last all year, instead of just during the carnival period. Group eight (last year primary school) will also be included in the campaign this year.

In the awareness campaign, young people between the ages of 10 and 24 are made aware of the consequences of the choices they make. Many different types of topics are covered, including sexuality, drugs and alcohol. New themes this year are aggression in schools, peer pressure and the 'hallway' problem.
A team consisting of representatives of the Public Prosecution Service, the Curaçao Ambulant Juvenile Care Foundation, the Ministry of Health, Fundashon Maneho Adikshon (addiction), the Victim Support Foundation and the Ministry of Social Development provides information in schools about these subjects.
During the information meetings, the students will learn in an interactive way how they interact with other students, how to protect themselves and others against (sexual) undesirable behavior and what the consequences of alcohol and drugs are.
