WILLEMSTAD – Banco del Orinoco is now committed to its social responsibility. This is according to the Vice President of the international bank in Curaçao, Tamo Cohen during a recent event where the bank donated toys to three organizations on the island.
The bank, the largest international bank on the island, has been in Curaçao for almost thirty years. In all these years, it has never opened its doors to the media. This needs to change, said the management of the bank.
“We are part of the community, we provide jobs for a good number of people, and its time for the community to get to know us.” For this reason, the bank held a ‘meet the press’ last week which was visited by several media representatives. Here the bank had the opportunity to present itself and open doors for future collaborations.
The bank also made use of the moment to donate toys to three organizations that protect the interest of the children. These are Foundation against Children’s Abuse, foster homes Casa Manita and Kinderoorden Brakkeput.
The bank will continue with this social responsibility which is high on the agenda of the founder and owner Dr. Victor Vargas.
