Bar Association calls statements pastors discriminatory

Local | By Correspondent October 21, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Carine Jänsch, the dean of the Bar Association, is not pleased with the statements made by two pastors of the Association of Christian Pastors. The two Church leaders recently challenged the sexual orientation of the new president of the Joint Court of Justice.

Downright discriminatory and an expression of deep mistrust in the judiciary, the dean writes in a letter. According to the dean, this is an overt attack and the integrity of the Court should not be called into question on the basis of a judge's philosophy of life, political affiliation, race, gender or sexual orientation. According to Jänsch, the Bar Association supports the current president-designate for the Joint Court of Justice.
