WILLEMSTAD - Zakitó District Cooling, the project that wants to use deep seawater to cool buildings, hopes to start the groundbreaking early next year, an official moment for the construction of the project.
According to Gilbert Gouverneur of Zakitó District Cooling, it will then take another 18 to 24 months for the piping system to be ready for distribution. The Curacao Medical Center will use the system.
Gouverneur said that it is not the case that the current air conditioning system of the new hospital will become superfluous as soon as it is connected to the Zakitó District Cooling system.
