Betèsda ready to go to court

Local | By Correspondent July 30, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Because of the cut on the subsidy from the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), the Betèsda nursing home has decided to go to court. This was announced by director Shirley Martis Treurniet.

Betèsda has been in serious financial trouble for years and the funds that have been made available would not cover the costs. According to Martis Treurniet, the SVB underestimates the intensity of the care that must be provided in the nursing home.

The costs of this are also increasing. The insurance bank would not or would not understand this, according to the director.

There is now a letter explaining all this at the SVB; Betèsda will go to court if there is no response within a few days.
