WILLEMSTAD - Willem “Billy” Jonckheer and Ralph Ottenheim were unanimously re-elected on Tuesday as chairman and vice-chairman of the Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
The chairman and vice-chairman are elected during the first meeting of the year in accordance with the rules of the Chamber of Commerce. The term of office is one year.
The Chamber of Commerce stands up for the interests of the 26,000 registered companies. Topics that have the attention of the board include the investment climate, tax legislation, the competitive climate, domestic and foreign demand for services and products, the labor market and the cost of doing business.
The board consists of: Jeanette Hooi-Bonet, Raoul Behr, Marcos Cova, Marco Cheis, Walid El-Hage, Billy Jonckheer, Ralph Ottenheim and Arthur Rosaria.
There is still a vacant position on the board. On January 17, a representative of the small business was to be elected. Due to the corona measures, the election has been postponed. The candidates for this position are Militza 'Milly' Pandt and O.P.S. de Souza. The date of the election will be announced later.
