WILLEMSTAD - The black and white ballots are valid and count towards the final result of the elections.
This was announced by the chairman of the main polling station, Pacheco Römer. On election day, 1,085 invalid votes were cast, but there was no black and white ballot in between.
According to the electoral law, color is not necessarily necessary on a ballot paper. There would have been 4000 black and white notes in circulation. But during the announcement of the official results, the members of the electoral council and the witnesses were not able to find not even one.
